Course Description
Despite the American Rule, fee-shifting litigation is prevalent throughout the U.S.  A panel of some of the nation's top litigators address a range of issues that arise in large, complex fee-shifting litigation.  Panelists discuss the different types of fee-shifting provisions and statutes, prevailing party issues, and winning and defeating prevailing party fee claims in court.  Panelists also consider fee entitlement issues, fees as sanctions or damages, use of fee experts, and methods for calculating reasonable prevailing party fees and expenses.
