NALFA PAC

Attorney fees are important; it's how attorneys get compensated for their work.  Attorney fee awards are not gifts, they are earned for work performed in underlying litigation.

But attorney fees have come under attack from the Republican Party.  The GOP along with the tort reform lobby (i.e. the U.S. Chamber of Commerce) wants to impose legislative caps on attorney fee awards in civil litigation.

Through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the tort reform lobby is spending millions of dollars to limit attorney compensation in our free market economy.

Here are just a few recent headlines we’ve reported in our News Blog.  (Click to read story)

As such, NALFA has registered a Political Action Committee (PAC) with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to directly address these issues.

The NALFA PAC seeks to protect attorney fee awards in tort litigation.  Our position is that judges should determine reasonable fee awards, not politicians.  The NALFA PAC supports candidates for federal office who support a pro-civil justice system and oppose legislative efforts to cap or limit attorney fee awards in civil litigation.
