Mr. Fuoco retired in 2011 from an active litigation practice in the New Jersey and Philadelphia area. During his almost 40 years of active litigation practice he specialized in class actions, most of which involved fee shifting statutes. As can be seen from his resume, his boutique law firm practice generally represented plaintiffs against some of the major law firms on the East Coast. Toward the end of this practice, he was involved in a number of nationwide class actions which enabled him to experience the give and take of high stakes attorney fee negotiation as it applied both to opposing parties and co-counsel.
While his class action practice resulted in significant settlements which benefited the classes he represented, Mr. Fuoco is no stranger to trial work. He is certified inNew Jersey as a criminal trial attorney, having tried to verdict a significant number of criminal cases (including a number of homicide cases.) This trial experience, Fuoco believes, will hopefully be of great benefit to him, and anyone who retains him as an expert.
Finally, having litigated securities, consumer, employment, and the civil rights cases, contested fee petitions are not new to Fuoco. He has experienced the entire gamut of fee-shifting issues; indeed he was deposed during a contested fee petition, almost 20 years ago.
