NALFA conducts hourly rate surveys of small law firms (1-150) and mid-size law firms (150-200) of average hourly rates of partners and associates in a particular jurisdiction.  Our hourly rate survey results are used by fee experts, attorneys seeking or challenging fees in court, law firm managing partners, and insurance claims professionals.

Methodology

NALFA conducts an hourly rate survey on-line during the spring.  NALFA invites selected law firms to participate by asking six key questions.  Participating associates and partners are provided final survey results at no cost to them.  When conducting hour rates surveys, NALFA consults with our fee experts to achieve the most accurate survey results possible.
